Even after all the time, and many comments that have passed since the murder of James Bulger, I found this book still had nuggets of information I had not been aware of from the press or TV news of the day. It is hard subject matter, but the book does give you a good informative insight and allows you to draw your own conclusions, with perhaps giving a slight leaning into reasons why the boys came together as they did, to committ the atrocious crime. It is a considered choice, as it does not hold back giving detail on the injuries little James sustained, but it is a book that makes you think, especially when previous crimes going back through the years are listed as a preview that children commuting murder upon other children is not quite as rare as you may want to believe.
