In this anthology, Matthieu Ricard gathers together the most clarifying and authentic texts he has come across in his forty years of practice and study with great Tibetan masters. His compilation represents a wide range of Tibetan spiritual traditions, with each selection illuminating the stages of the Tibetan Buddhist path through its own lens.
In 1981 in Bhutan, Tibetan spiritual master Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche told the author: "When one realizes the depth of view of the various schools of Tibetan Buddhism and we see also that they all lead to the same goal without contradicting each other, we see that only ignorance can lead us to adopt a sectarian view." It is with this in mind that Ricard has translated and compiled these texts.
